Description

Named after naturalist John Reeves, this is another large and hardy species of pheasant. The males have a beautiful tail that grows up to a foot longer each year. Breeding season falls typically between March-June, and during this time Reeves can be aggressive toward both humans and other pheasants.
These birds are grounded much of the time but prefer to nest up higher. Expect as much as 14 eggs in a clutch. Diet consists of seeds, invertebrates, greens, and game bird pellet.
Our pheasants are not pinioned. Clipped wings are available at an additional $2.50 per bird and the trimming can last for four to six months.
